Clara minus a tooth

Clara finally lost her first tooth. It's been pretty wiggly for a while but she's been hanging on to it for dear life because we told her that once she loses a tooth she has to stop sucking her fingers. (Like that's going to happen. My mom was quick to point out to her that I sucked my thumb until I was like 10. So now she tells me she doesn't have to stop.) But it finally got too loose for her to ignore. Last night she would not go to sleep because it was bugging her. I asked her if I should try pulling it out and she said yes. So we tugged some but then she cried and told me that I had hurt her. Then went to sulk in bed because it was all my fault that her tooth hurt. This morning while she was getting dressed she decided to pull it out herself and it just popped out. She was pretty excited and now she gets to go put a mark on the tooth chart in her class at school. She swears she's the only one who doesn't have a mark. And the first thing she wanted to do was call the grandparents. Sorry if we woke you up. We held off calling Mark's mom because she is in California and it was like 7 a.m. there.

Will it ever be spring?

This was my backyard this morning, April 16th. Really?

Easter Festivities

Can I just mention how I hate putting pictures into the blog. How you can only put in 5 at a time and then they don't come out in the order I want. Anyway, there are a lot of pictures here, so just be warned.

We had a fun and eventful Easter weekend. It was a lot of fun with Collin this year because he was actually old enough to participate. We don't really believe in the Easter bunny at our house (which could be a mistake since Clara was telling all who would listen that the Easter bunny isn't real) but we did fill the Easter baskets with fun treats. Clara liked her bunny ears.

And Collin did not.
We did get him to wear them long enough to get a picture.

We had fun dying Easter eggs. Collin thought it was fun to throw the eggs into the coloring. There was a lot splashed around. We basically had to guide each egg in for him so there wasn't mass hysteria.
Mark didn't react fast enough for this casualty. I think Collin was going for the green cup but overshot. He threw it with such force that it landed on the next cup, suspended on the edge of the glass.

After dying the eggs we had a short Easter egg hunt. Collin had so much fun finding the eggs and now he wants to hunt eggs every day. We've had several hunts since then. We also had the 2nd annual Ohran glow in the dark Easter egg hunt with Mark's family.

Clara in her new dress.
On another note, we cut Collin's hair again. It was getting so long and it just always stuck straight up. So I went to give it a trim but he wouldn't hold still so I just buzzed it. Now only one inch of hair sticks up instead of 5. It's a lot more manageable.
