Thinking twice about leaving Mark home with Collin....alone.
So this morning I had to go Visiting Teaching and left Mark to tend Collin since he is getting over croup. Collin, not Mark. So Mark was working on the computer and Collin was playing in his room, so Mark thought. He heard Collin in his bedroom grunting and thought that Collin was pooping. So after a few minutes he went in to check on him and this is what he found.

Collin had gotten into the baby powder and was so proud of himself. He had rubbed it all over his shirt and pants. And then was trying to wipe it off with a wet wipe. At least he helped clean up.

Collin turned 2!
Collin turned 2 yesterday. We had an Elmo party with some of our family.
We had Elmo cupcakes. Collin only ate the Elmo head and licked off all of the frosting.
Clara designed and drew a pin the nose on the Elmo game. It was the highlight of the party. Good job Clara.
Collin had fun opening presents. He actually did it all by himself.
Collin knew exactly what to do with the candle. He blew it out all by himself.

In his Elmo shirt we bought him. Of course, he didn't want his picture taken so he's on the floor throwing a fit.

And so the terrible 2's begin
We're so excited that Collin has moved into the tantrum phase. Clara was not a real tantrum thrower so this is new to us. Collin is getting very independent and if things don't go just his way, the crying and throwing himself onto the floor begin. He is also really good at throwing things. If he doesn't like the food we give him, on the floor it goes before we can even react. For lunch now, he only wants chicken nuggets, which he says chi-nut. Heaven forbid we don't feed him his chi-nuts. He also really likes candy. The following pictures are of him throwing a tantrum because I wouldn't give him his 89th piece of Valentine's candy.

Just to prove it
Collin channeling his inner Beaker
Mark was finding fun muppet videos on youtube for Collin to watch the other day and they came across a video of Beaker. Collin is obsessed with it now. He goes around the house singing "me me me me" and any time he gets close to a computer, he has a meltdown if we don't watch it. He just stares at the video entranced until the very end when Beaker shocks himself and then he just laughs and laughs.
Here is another of his favorites. This just makes me laugh because we used to think my dad looked just like the swedish chef. And Animal and Beaker are pretty funny too.

More Valentine Fun
Valentine Fun
I thought it would be fun to make Valentine cookies for FHE this week. Clara helped make the cookies and is getting very good at measuring and pouring things in. We had fun decorating them. Clara got really into it this year. Collin, not being a big cookie eater, just liked the frosting.

He started out innocent enough. Politely dipping his finger in the frosting. Then he decided he really liked the frosting...
He soon discovered there was a much quicker way...
An attempt to frost the cookie himself...
Soon to discover that he could bypass the cookie altogether.
We finally just took his shirt off. He made such a mess. I'm sure we'll be finding sprinkles for months. But he had fun. And he does love frosting.
On another note. Collin really loves his stool. He has found that he can reach more things if he stands on it. He drags it everywhere and uses it to get up on the couch, reach things on the counter, get things off of shelves. He gets mad when I do my hair and makeup in the morning that he can't see the counter and what I'm doing. So off he goes and soon I hear the clompety clomp of him trying to get the stool down the few stairs into our bedroom.
